On Thursday 7th June Dunadry Hotel was filled with ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ as hundreds of guests crossed the iconic hotel’s doorway for the first time since phase one of the refurbishment plan had been complete.. it seems that the hotel has been rebranded by the guests as ‘the new Dunadry hotel’.
We thought we would give ourselves as a simple task and hold 3 (yes 3!) different events on the one day…turns out it wasn’t so simple, but we got there, and we are all still on a high (or delirious from exhaustion) from how fantastic each event went, like come on we even made the sunshine come out!
So first on the cards was our Corporate Breakfast which was hosted by the wonderful Pamela Ballantine! We had a delicious selection of breakfast items for all our guests prepared by our very talented chefs. They included mini Danishes, sweet & savoury muffins, breakfast bagels, fruit platter, yogurt & fruit compote pots, plus so much more! We can personally tell you now that everything went down an absolute treat!
So after everyone was fed & watered it was time to kick off the event. The room filled with laughter as Pamela Ballantine carried out a Q&A session with Eugene & Catherine McKeever, Managing Directors of McKeever Hotel Group, asking them about how it all started. Everyone was intrigued to hear their stories about where it all began & their thoughts on the future of Dunadry Hotel.
So at this point it was 1 down & 2 to go! Our next event kicked off in the afternoon & welcomed a selected few of Northern Ireland’s top media & influencers to view the iconic venue. Once again our amazing chefs put on a show stopping spread of delicious afternoon tea inspired treats for our guests!
But it wasn’t just the food that went down a treat; they all enjoyed a beverage or two from our new lounge bar also.
So this event ran slightly (hugely) different to the corporate breakfast! We decide a sit down event just wouldn’t cut it, so we created a tour around the whole hotel showcasing its beauty, history & individuality.
First on the tour our gorgeous new ballroom, here is where our fantastic General Manager Malachy used his wit and charm to tell the story of Dunadry Hotel & what we are all about!
Next up the new lounge area! Here they were informed of our bespoke coffee blend & we had a mock up afternoon tea station for them also, so they could get the full effect of how amazing our setting is with the gardens as the backdrop.
Next stop was to the gorgeous gardens, which looked absolutely stunning in the gorgeous June sunshine.
There was so much to show in our gardens, including the tree of peace and unity, the six mile river, the quirky garden rooms, and the secret garden which was set up as a circuit class by Andy Ward Fitness, showing the endless options of what we can provide here at Dunadry.
Hillstown Brewery kindly brought their beer display with them and set up under our beautiful tree of peace and unity, talking about everything craft beer & our very own craft beer; The Pecking Peacock.
The final stop of the tour was the famous Copper Bar, full off history & iconic in its appearance. Showcasing the wooden beetles in its design, the history behind its name, the fireplace and our cork displays.
And number two was complete & was another roaring success!
Last event of the day was our community event, where the local community and businesses attended. It was great to give back to those who have supported Dunadry Hotel through it all, and get a chance to personally thank them.
So there we have it, 3 events in one day, Dunadry Hotel’s official launch was a success! We want to thank all who attended, it is greatly appreciated, and we are very excited for the next phase of refurbishments to be complete!
