About the Role

Dunadry Hotel and Gardens is currently recruiting for reliable, professional and customer focused Night Porters to join our hotel team.

This is a key overnight role within the hotel, helping to ensure our guests receive a safe, welcoming and professional service throughout the night. The Night Porter supports the smooth running of the hotel during overnight hours, including guest service, security checks, reception support, bar duties, room service, cleaning of public areas and preparation for the following day’s business.

We are open to both full-time and part-time applicants. This role may suit someone with previous experience in hospitality, hotels, security, reception, bar work, customer service or other night shift roles.

You will need to be responsible, dependable and confident working independently overnight, while also being part of the wider hotel team.

Key Responsibilities

As Night Porter, your duties will include:

• Providing a professional, efficient and helpful night portering service throughout the hotel.
• Welcoming guests and assisting with late check-ins, early check-outs and general enquiries.
• Supporting reception duties during the night shift, including use of the hotel switchboard.
• Carrying out regular fire safety, security and building checks in line with hotel procedures.
• Responding promptly and professionally to guest requests, incidents or concerns.
• Maintaining public areas including reception, foyers, toilets, corridors and function areas to a high standard.
• Setting up function rooms, meeting rooms and event spaces for the following day.
• Supporting bar service where required, in line with hotel procedures and licensing requirements.
• Assisting with room service and other guest requests during the night shift.
• Supporting housekeeping duties, including bedroom servicing where required.
• Reporting maintenance, safety, security or guest issues to the appropriate manager.
• Supporting other departments as required to help ensure the smooth running of the hotel.
• Following all health and safety, fire safety, food safety, security and hotel procedures at all times.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Reliable, trustworthy and able to work responsibly during overnight hours.
• Professional, approachable and guest-focused.
• Confident working on their own initiative.
• Calm under pressure and able to deal with situations sensibly and respectfully.
• Practical, hands-on and happy to work in an active role.
• Flexible and willing to support different areas of the hotel when required.
• A good communicator with strong customer service skills.
• Able to maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness and presentation.

Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, security, reception, bar or customer-facing role would be desirable. All successful candidates will receive full training as part of their induction.

Important Role Requirements

Due to the location of Dunadry Hotel and Gardens and the overnight shift pattern, applicants must be able to reliably travel to and from work at the required times. Access to a suitable form of transport will therefore be important for this role.

Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK, as this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Right-to-work checks will be completed before employment commences.
