Adair Arms Hotel in Ballymena, will be one of 3 hotels across the Ballymena area to take on aspiring chefs who wish to enter the hospitality world through a collaboration with the brand-new Chef Academy at the NI Hospitality School, which was set up through the Gallahers Trust.

Successful candidates will be given a year long program, gaining an impressive FDQ Level 2 diploma in Professional Chef – Northern Ireland, a nationally recognised qualification along with guaranteed employment by the end of the program.

McKeever Hotels along with Galgorm Group and Tullyglass Hotel will be welcoming the candidates into their kitchens through blended teaching with the scholarships giving students first hand experience, working alongside professional chefs, developing their flare, passion and getting to know local food producers.

Eddie McKeever, Operations Director McKeever Hotels said, We are delighted to launch the Chef Academy following the success of the Bar Academy that was launched last year,  The Chef Academy is a fantastic opportunity for people to start a career with no previous knowledge and end up as a trained chef. This industry can give you the steps to a great career or take you around the world.  My father is testament to this, beginning his career as a commis chef, working his way up to Head Chef at Corrs Corner and today the Company has 5 hotels across Donegal and Northern Ireland.”

The candidates will have the opportunity to experience different disciplines within the kitchens from event catering to pastry, high volume grill to fine dining and much more.

Applications are now open and we are very excited to meet the next generation of Northern Irelands aspiring chefs and be part of their journey to success!
